Terms of Service
Welcome to SpeakKhmer ("we," "us," or "our"). SpeakKhmer is a product of Arcline LLC, based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. By accessing or using the SpeakKhmer application at speakkhmer.app (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
SpeakKhmer provides AI-assisted English-Khmer translation, pronunciation guidance, cultural context, and a conversational Khmer language tutor. Translations are generated using large language models and refined against a proprietary glossary maintained by native Khmer speakers. We continuously improve the Service, but we do not guarantee that every translation will be perfect for every context.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You may use the free Explorer tier without creating an account. To subscribe to Plus or Pro, you must create an account with a valid email address and provide accurate billing information. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your password secure.
3. Subscriptions and Billing
SpeakKhmer offers the following paid tiers:
- Plus — $7.99 per month or $59 per year
- Pro — $14.99 per month or $119 per year
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Stripe. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; access continues until the end of your current paid period. See our Refund Policy for details on refunds.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to translate illegal, harmful, harassing, or abusive content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or bulk-export our glossary or translations
- Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
- Use automated systems to access the Service except where expressly permitted
5. Intellectual Property
The SpeakKhmer Service, including the glossary, translations, software, design, branding, and all content, is owned by Arcline LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal learning. Our native-speaker verified Khmer glossary is proprietary and may not be copied, extracted, or reused.
6. User Feedback
When you flag a translation as inaccurate (thumbs down), the input and translation may be reviewed by our team to improve the Service. By submitting feedback, you grant us the right to use that feedback to improve the glossary and train our systems. Flagged content is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. SpeakKhmer is a language learning tool, not a professional translation service. Do not rely on it for legal, medical, diplomatic, or any other high-stakes translation without verification by a certified human translator.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arcline LLC, its employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or in the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Phnom Penh, unless local consumer protection law provides otherwise.
